Jazzablanca returns to Casablanca from 2–11 July 2026, bringing more than 50 artists across three stages over ten days. While its name reflects its jazz origins, the festival has evolved into one of North Africa’s largest international music events, with a programme spanning jazz, pop, soul, world music and contemporary sounds.

More Than a Jazz Festival

The 2026 line-up illustrates how far the festival has expanded beyond traditional jazz. Headliners include Robbie Williams, Scorpions, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jessie J, Mika and Jorja Smith, alongside jazz artists such as Hiromi, José James and Theo Croker, plus Moroccan and African performers across multiple stages.

Rather than focusing on a single genre, Jazzablanca has become a meeting point for international and regional music.

A Mediterranean Cultural Hub

For European audiences, Casablanca is becoming more than a nearby travel destination.

Located only a few hours from many European cities, Morocco increasingly occupies a space between European and African cultural networks. Festivals like Jazzablanca bring together artists and audiences from both sides of the Mediterranean, creating a programme that feels distinctly international while remaining rooted in its local context.

Unlike many established European festivals, Jazzablanca also combines ticketed headline concerts with free performances in public spaces, extending the festival beyond the main venue.

Beyond the Traditional Festival Circuit

Europe’s summer festival calendar has long been associated with destinations such as Glastonbury, Roskilde and Primavera Sound.

Jazzablanca suggests that the geography of cultural travel is becoming more diverse. As festivals emerge in cities like Casablanca, they offer visitors not only international artists but also access to local music traditions, cuisine and urban culture.

For travellers already exploring southern Europe during the summer, North Africa is increasingly becoming part of the same cultural itinerary.
